Ethan's 5th Birthday

Ethan's 5th birthday celebration was a hit. Thursday evening Ethan told me that it had been the "best birthday ever" since so many people at school had told him "Happy Birthday." That day Reid and I accompanied his class on a field trip to the YMCA Gymnastics (a friend from church watched Luke.) We came home and had Macaroni and Cheese for dinner, from the box (Ethan's choice: he told me that was what he wanted because on the box it reads, "Macaroni and Cheese DINNER"... darn, he figured out, it's not just for lunch.) We ate Oreo Ice Cream with Spiderman Cupcakes and then played with the new GeoTrax. Way to go, Grandma Nancy... you've created an addiction, not only for the boys, but for Derek as well... I must admit, I too, have to restrain myself from spending money wildly at Toys R Us to add to the collection.

Saturday morning we extended the festivities by having breakfast with a few of Ethan's friends at Flap Jack Shack (that's pronounced "fleeyap jeeack sheeack" if you're from Northern Michigan). In the afternoon we went to an ice show performance of "Annie" and "Grease" because some girls from our branch were performing in it. It was a lot of fun and the boys really seemed to enjoy it.
